Michael Andino: A Leader in Latin Dance

Born in Manhattan and raised in Ecuador, Michael Andino (Mike) moved to West New York, New Jersey, during his early teens. His journey into Latin dance began in 2000 when he was introduced to salsa, and by 2001, his passion for the art form propelled him into both performing and teaching. With his natural teaching ability and creativity, Mike quickly gained a reputation as one of the East Coast's premier salsa instructors.

Known for his soft lead and smooth movements, Mike is a favorite among dance partners, while his unique styling and shines set him apart as an admired figure in the dance community. His expertise spans a variety of Latin dance styles beyond salsa, including Mambo, Bachata, Cha-cha-cha, and Casino Rueda. Over the years, he has performed extensively at salsa congresses both nationally and internationally.

Mike’s teaching style is as inclusive as it is inspiring. From beginners to advanced dancers, his classes are designed to build confidence and ensure that students—whether 5 or 85—enjoy their dance journey. His guiding principle remains simple yet essential: always have fun.

In 2004, Michael became a founding member of Art in Motion Latin Dancers and later that year launched the children’s dance group, Kids Con Estilo. By 2006, he opened Estilo Dance Studio in Philadelphia, PA, where he has since cultivated hundreds of dancers and helped students of all ages build confidence through dance. In 2015, Michael expanded his influence by joining HotsalsaHot in Hamilton, NJ, as the lead Salsa instructor.

Whether through group classes or private lessons, Michael’s dedication to spreading the joy of Latin dance continues to thrive across state lines, creating dancers of all ages at both his Philadelphia and New Jersey locations.

Rogerson St. Jean: A Journey Through Dance

Born and raised in the Caribbean, Rogerson St. Jean (Roger) was immersed in the vibrant rhythms and rich traditions of Konpa, Zouk, Folklore, Troubadour, and West African dance from an early age. His deep cultural roots ignited a lifelong passion for dancing, performing, teaching, and directing.

Roger’s journey into Latin dance began in 2002 with Salsa, which opened the door to other styles such as Bachata, Merengue, and Cha-cha. Among these, Bachata captured his heart, and through years of dedication, he developed a distinctive teaching style that blends his Caribbean heritage with Latin influences.

In January 2008, Roger joined HotsalsaHot Latin Dance School under the direction of its founder, Henry Velandia, also known as Ry’el ZenZouk, a renowned Zouk and Lambada dancer. During his career, Roger has performed Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Zouk, Modern-Contemporary, Intro-Tango, and more, gracing stages at dance congresses, special events, and private celebrations.

By 2015, Roger’s experience and expertise led him to choreograph and direct performances for HotsalsaHot's teams and numerous other projects. His choreography has enhanced weddings, pageants, and styling routines for both men and women.

As a teacher, Roger focuses on creating a personalized “dance recipe” for each student, combining elements, techniques, and styles tailored to their unique learning journey. His goal is to nurture students' confidence, ensure they feel comfortable, and foster their growth as individual dancers.
